On September 13th 2012, Jack Throckmorton, SiteLogic’s director of client development, presented at the Law and Technology Committee’s “Tech Tuesdays Session”.

The topic this particular week was ‘large litigation for small firms.’  The goal was to provide a high altitude view of the timeline in a large litigation matter, starting from the time an order to produce has been received, up until the time of trial.  Several topics were touched upon, such as when to engage an outside vendor, forensic data collection, eDiscovery “do’s” and “don’ts” (citing a number of infamous cases where court imposed sanctions were awarded), choosing a review platform as well as producing to opposing counsel.  We went through a mock-case scenario highlighting the case workflow and followed by a live demonstration of the Eclipse Hosted Review Platform.

Jack was asked several questions throughout the presentation from the attorneys in attendance, but one stood out.  One of the attendees had an immediate need for a solution scan and review over 450 boxes of documents with limited manpower and resources.  His opposing counsel for this case is a Top 25 NYC law firm.  We continued to talk after the meeting and suggested contract attorney review to assist in the document review and he agreed to view a more in-depth live demonstration of SiteLogic’s hosted review solution. The outcome of this project is yet to be determined.  However after our conversation he is more at ease to know that solutions exist for the small firm to take on the big guys.
